Do you have a computer but feel intimidated or frustrated by attempting to complete simple tasks? Do you wish someone would go over the basics with you? In this course, we will cover what you need to know to get started using your computer.
This course will cover the anatomy of a computer, logging on and shutting down a computer, mastering the mouse and keyboard, connecting to the internet, storing files, and sending and receiving emails with documents or pictures attached. Don’t have an email address? Not to worry, we will show you how to create one. This course will also cover internet basics, how to stay safe online, best practices for creating passwords, and more.
Bring your laptop, charger, any usernames and passwords you need, and we will help you use your computer with confidence. Don’t have a computer? We provide a desktop computer if needed.
About the Instructor
Stephanie Albernaz is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a BS in Marketing and holds an M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State University.
She currently serves as the Instructional Technology Specialist at Blue Hills and has been an educator for over twelve years. Prior to becoming an Instructional Technology Specialist, she taught Vocational Marketing courses, Business and Technology, and Career and Life Skills courses.
She is passionate about education, technology, and making learning fun and accessible for all learners.
