This class will teach you basic culinary skills and techniques while cooking some traditional St. Patrick's Day favorites.  This night we'll make corned beef and cabbage dinner, carrots, potatoes, turnips and Irish soda bread with orange butter.

About the Instructor
Taryn Mohan is a Boston native and a 1996 graduate of Blue Hills and the Culinary Arts program.  While a senior at Blue Hills, Taryn represented both the school and the state in Switzerland at the VICA (now SKillsUSA) competition.  She continued her culinary aspirations by attending the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.  Since her graduation in 2000, she has worked in world renowned restaurants and hotels like Lydia Shire’s Biba and the Four Seasons Hotel Group.  She was asked to move to San Francisco to open the Four Seasons Hotel there.   She moved to France in 2005 where she worked under several Master Chefs in Michelin starred restaurants.  After 10 years she returned home with her two sons and husband who is an Executive Pastry Chef for a very large restaurant group in Boston.  She has been actively involved in the BHR Culinary Arts program since returning to the United States and is now happily employed by Wegmans in Westwood.  As of November 2020, Taryn is the elected representative for the Town of Holbrook to the BHR District School Committee.
