This class includes 2 online classes and one, in-person Lighthouse Boat Cruise in Rhode Island. Students will be responsible for purchasing their own cruise ticket (cost $35 - https://www.fastferry.com/rhode-island-bay-cruises/). In the first live online class, we'll start by learning camera settings, aperture, shutter, ISO, white balance and other compositional techniques critical to lighthouse photography. During the cruise, we’ll focus on photographing the Lighthouses, sharing techniques and approaches and different compositions. Finally, we’ll meet online the following week to share, learn and critique our images. This workshop is for beginner and intermediate photographers.
Please note: The rain date for the in-person cruise is Sunday, Jun 4. No refunds will be given if you can not make that date. Please be sure both in-person dates are available to you before booking.
About the Instructor:
Steve McGrath is professional freelance Photographer and Photography Teacher who has been creating images for 30 years. Steve first began by shooting sports photography for local high schools, then weddings, and stock agencies. Then his love of the outdoors led him to focusing more on his true passion "nature photography". Many of his images have been published in school text books. His favorite places to shoot are Acadia National Park in Maine, the Green Mountains of Vermont, and the Cape Cod National Seashore.
